Publication of the materials on Sept. 13 will initiate a 30-day public comment period.

In addition, a survey assessing CCHIT's progress in developing a certification process for EHR products to be used in ambulatory and inpatient settings is now available on its Web site. The application period for inpatient EHR certification ends today, with the first certified inpatient EHR products to be announced in late October. The next inpatient application period opens up on Nov. 1.
