The Nebraska Health Information Initiative (NeHII), a statewide healthcare collaborative, has selected Axolotl Corp. of San Jose, Calif., as its technology partner to deploy a Health Information Exchange (HIE) designed to improve healthcare quality across Nebraska.

During the pilot phase, Axolotl says its Elysium Exchange suite will connect several Omaha hospitals, clinics, physician offices, radiology centers, reference labs and pharmacies. Once the pilot is complete, the HIE will be rolled out to healthcare entities across the state, it says.

The nonprofit NeHII is a collaboration of Nebraska health care organizations, hospitals, physicians, and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska.
