Tenet Healthcare Corporation of Dallas has inked a seven-year agreement to outsource materials management and procurement functions for its 52 hospitals to Dallas supply chain service provider, Broadlane. The deal is worth approximately $1.5 billion, according to the companies, both of which are based in Dallas.

Beginning Jan. 1, 2009, Tenet’s approximately 200 materials management and procurement employees will become Broadlane employees.

Tenet will continue to have full access to Broadlane’s products and services through an online client portal and will continue to utilize Broadlane Informatics for access to reports. Broadlane will provide national GPO portfolio management, regional GPO portfolio management and custom agreements for Tenet, the companies say.
