The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has contracted with Picis (Wakefield, Mass.) to deploy its Critical Care Manager at the Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 12, also known as the Great Lakes Health Care System, the company says.
According to Picis, the solution offers a decision support system designed to provide ICU clinicians with the point-of-care information. Critical Care Manager eView provides users with Web access to patient trends in diagnostics, and consolidates information to help clinicians quickly identify patients requiring attention, it touts. The solution is interoperable with the Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture, it adds.
Critical Care Manager will be implemented at William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital (Madison, Wis.), Clement J. Zablocki Veterans Affairs Medical Center (Milwaukee), Jesse Brown VA Medical Center (Chicago), North Chicago VA Medical Center, Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital (Hines, Ill.) and Iron Mountain VA Medical Center (Iron Mountain, Mich.).
The VA Great Lakes Health Care System is a group of seven medical centers and more than 30 clinics dedicated to providing comprehensive care to America’s veterans. The System serves veterans who reside in northwestern Indiana, northern Illinois, Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
