Information technology and business consulting professionals can take a certificate program, developed by America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP, Washington, D.C.), to attain industry credentials that demonstrate domain expertise.

AHIP contends the Business Process Advisor (BPA) certificate program is the latest of 12 designations offered by its Center for Insurance Education and Professional Development. The six-course program is designed for companies that provide customer solutions to local and international clients, offer back office support, or work with overseas support services, says AHIP.

According to AHIP, to complete the BPA designation, students are required to take courses in customer service, care management, and can choose electives on topics such as HIPAA, medical management, and call centers.
