Milwaukee, Wis.-based Merge Healthcare, a provider of medical imaging software and services, recently announced the release of its Merge PET/CT Workstation software.

According to Merge, the workstation accommodates standard methods used by radiologists to read Positron Emission and Tomography (PET) and Computed Tomography (CT) datasets.

Merge explains that the PET/CT Workstation displays images across dual monitors, allowing healthcare specialists to view both physiological activities in conjunction with anatomical location. This method of review also allows simultaneous comparison of CT images, PET Corrected, PET Uncorrected, PET/CT Fused Images and MIP among others, says Merge.

Merge claims that the PET/CT Workstation can be used as a stand-alone workstation, or can be integrated into a DICOM-compliant PACS environment.
