The Commonwealth of Virginia has selected Barrington, Ill.-based GE Healthcare’s medication management pharmacy system.

GE Centricity Pharmacy, the company says, will connect all 15 pharmacy sites served by the Commonwealth, including the more than 3,000 beds under the Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services (DMHMRSAS).

The medication management solution, it says, is designed to manage end-to-end workflow of a hospital pharmacy or ambulatory pharmacy network. The company touts that its system interfaces with other information systems and devices, and says it expects the product to be fully operational at DMHMRSAS by 2010.
