Lakeland HealthCare, a not-for-profit system based in St. Joseph, Mich., has tapped TeleHealth Services (Raleigh, N.C.) to provide healthcare grade televisions and communications solutions as part of its strategy to enhance the hospital stay for patients and their families.

TeleHealth will provide Lakeland with a package that includes service to patient and staff video-on-demand education systems, and access to movies and television through a partnership with DirecTV. As part of the agreement, Lakeland will also receive Philip’s 22- inch and 32-inch flat screen LCD televisions.

Lakeland HealthCare is a community-owned system serving the southwest Michigan region of Berrien, Cass and VanBuren counties. It includes four hospitals and a hospital-based skilled nursing facility.
