Chicago-based HIMSS has acquired Government Health IT, a set of multi-media titles focused on government health information technology (IT) and its related activities in this sector, from 1105 Media, Inc. (Chatsworth, Calif.).

According to the organization, the acquisition expands the Society’s current reach of its educational and public policy activities in Washington by adding more than 30,000 GHIT subscribers.

1105 Media is a multi-media enterprise that provides integrated business-to-business information and media. Through its various services — which include print and online publications, conferences and other events, training and courseware, and Web-based services — 1105 is targeted government, education, business intelligence, compliance, security, and several other markets.
