Lake County Illinois Health Department and Community Center of Waukegan has selected Horsham, Pa.-based NextGen Healthcare Information Systems Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Quality Systems Inc. to improve patient care and access to health records.

Ambulatory healthcare and connectivity solutions provider NextGen says that Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center has selected its fully integrated EMR and enterprise practice management system as the computerized patient record system to be used in the department’s public health clinics.

The Lake County Health Department provides ambulatory medical care to 35,000 patients per year at five clinics, which employ 85 healthcare providers.
