Beaumont Hospitals (Royal Oak, Mich.) is installing Impax Cardiovascular from Agfa HealthCare (Mortsel, Belgium) for imaging and reporting in its cardiology department. The system will integrate with Beaumont’s existing Impax radiology PACS.

According to Agfa, the new cardiology system includes solutions for adult and pediatric echocardiography, cardiac catheterization, and vascular ultrasound. Impax Cardiovascular is designed to provide a single point of access for multimodality studies and a longitudinal, consolidated view of patient images and information.

By consolidating radiology and cardiology studies, Beaumont hopes to provide its clinicians with an integrated view of patient data, enabling images and information to be accessed securely from any PC, it says.

A nationally-recognized healthcare provider with one of the world’s largest interventional cardiology programs, Beaumont consists of three hospitals in the Detroit area: a 1,061-bed major academic and referral center in Royal Oak, a 361-bed hospital in Troy, and a 289-bed facility in Grosse Pointe.
