Quest Joins Patient Safety Initiative

Lyndhurst, N.J.-based Quest Diagnostics Incorporated, a provider of diagnostic testing, has joined the National ePrescribing Patient Safety

Lyndhurst, N.J.-based Quest Diagnostics Incorporated, a provider of diagnostic testing, has joined the National ePrescribing Patient Safety Initiative (NEPSI), a coalition of healthcare and technology companies committed to improving patient safety through free access to electronic prescribing for every physician in America.

According to Quest, physician that use eRx NOW, the web-based electronic prescribing application provided free of charge by Chicago-based Allscripts, will now have access to electronic laboratory orders and results capabilities from Quest at no charge.

The collaboration between Quest Diagnostics and Allscripts is expected to be available later this year.
