San Diego-based Awarepoint Corp. and Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Skytron have rolled out Skytron Asset Manager, an integrated active RFID asset management and information resource solution designed to improve hospital patient care, enhance staff productivity and better manage equipment capital and rental expense.

The product, according to the companies, incorporates operators’ instructions, maintenance manuals and parts catalogs into the asset tracking RFID platform.

Under the new partnership, Skytron’s North American network of independent distributors will sell, install and support the technology powered by Awarepoint’s ZigBee’s sensor network.
