North Carolina Medical Society (NCMS), the state’s largest physician organization, has inked a deal with Raleigh, N.C.-based Medfusion to provide communications solutions for its physician practices.

Medfusion will provide an online portal that allows patients to preregister, schedule appointments, renew prescriptions, assess symptoms, pay bills, access lab results and conduct virtual office visits, according to the company. Through the partnership, NCMS seeks to improve quality of care and value of services.
