Agfa HealthCare, a provider of IT enabled clinical workflow and diagnostic imaging solutions, and San Mateo, Calif.-based InterComponentWare AG (ICW), a provider of eHealth solutions, are intensifying their co-operation efforts.

According to Mortsel, Belgium-based Agfa, the non-exclusive agreement covers the development of seamless integration and interoperability between Agfa HealthCare's hospital information system (HIS) ORBIS and ICW's eHealth framework.

The agreement is an extension of an ongoing co-operation between the two companies on issues in the hospital sector, says the company. Agfa HealthCare and ICW, amongst others, have already actively co-operated in various working groups in Germany on the implementation of HL7 standards and on the development of an electronic case record.
