Sprint (Overland Park, Kan.) and GE Healthcare (Barrington, Ill.) are collaborating to provide in-building wireless communications services to hospitals in North America.

According to both companies, physicians and caregivers will be able to communicate with one and other, and access patient information from most locations throughout the facility.

The in-building cellular communications network leverages GE's Carescape Enterprise Access, a wireless platform powered by MobileAccess, and includes Sprint handsets to provide hospitals with voice and data communications over cellular, Wi-Fi and telemetry infrastructure, says both companies.
