Virtua Health, a multi-hospital healthcare system based in Marlton, N.J., has tapped NEC Unified Solutions, Inc. (Irving, Texas) to develop a role-based communications platform.

Through the IP communications migration — which will include all aspects of NEC’s UNIVERGE 360 portfolio from infrastructure and applications to services, ongoing support and monitoring — Virtua seeks to enable quick and reliable connections for hospital staff and employees, according to the company.

The NEC UC and IP-based solutions include its UNIVERGE UM8500 unified messaging platform that supports productivity-enhancing UC applications, such as unified messaging, telephone and call systems and patient find-me/follow-me.
