Healthcare Informatics has won three awards from the American Society of Healthcare Publication Editors for excellence in journalism.
In the Profile category, HCI received a gold award for “Behind the Curtain,” an in-depth look at Epic System Corporation by Senior Contributing Editor Mark Hagland. In the Single News Article segment, the publication took silver for Kate Gamble’s “No Sponge Left Behind,” a look at the technologies used to track surgical equipment in the OR. And in the Legislative/Government category, Contributing Editor David Raths won bronze for his examination of privacy issues in, “Stay Out of My EMR.”
“I couldn’t be prouder of our entire staff,” said Anthony Guerra, HCI Editor-in-Chief. “Every single person involved with this magazine has one goal in mind — to provide our readers with actionable news and analysis that helps them improve healthcare. These awards from ASHPE give us confidence we’re fulfilling that mission.”
