Singapore General Hospital (SGH), the country’s oldest and largest acute tertiary hospital and national referral center, has implemented Atlanta-based Eclipsys Corporation’s Sunrise Patient Flow solution to automate the bed management, bed turnover and patient flow processes.

The solution utilizes real-time location system technology to identify patient location and optimize workflow related to patient movements, enabling clinical, administrative and support staff to use their time more efficiently, according to the company. The deployment includes Sunrise Patient Flow’s Bed Turnover module, which provides SGH’s Environmental Services with the tools necessary to automate and manage bed cleaning requests and housekeeping staff assignments to facilitate timely cleaning and bed turnover, it touts.

A member of Singapore Health Services, Singapore General Hospital is the public sector's flagship hospital. Established in 1821, it offers a range of clinical specialties and clinical support services in the region with 1,500 acute beds and about 500 specialists.
