Atlanta-based Optimus Solutions recently launched a new practice dedicated to serving the IT needs of hospitals, physicians groups, insurance providers and integrated delivery networks.

In addition to disaster recovery, Optimus claims it provides security solutions, applications to track staff schedules, patients and supplies in real time, and assistance in the development of dashboards with single sign-on access that integrate security across multiple computer systems.

The practice is headed by Bob Shapiro, who previously served as practice leader for healthcare workflow transformation at IBM Consulting Group before joining Optimus in 2006.
