In a recent survey conducted by Chicago, Ill.-based HIMSS Electronic Health Record Vendors Association (EHRVA), 76 percent of its members believed the ATSM/HL7 Continuity of Care Document (CCD) would be in the next round of Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT) certification.
The survey, focused on members' expectations and enthusiasm for interoperability requirements being considered for 2008 by the CCHIT, also showed that they were aware of both Health Information Technology Standards Panel (HITSP) stipulations, as well as the effect HITSP and the CCHIT have on their product development activities.
According to EHRVA, its membership targeted additional key initiatives for further support and growth, including the development of a CCD Quick Start Guide to accelerate CCD-based-interoperability solutions, which will be made available later this year.
