Lankenau Hospital, a 331-bed hospital in Wynnewood, Pa., is deploying ProVation MD software from Philadelphia-based Wolters Kluwer Health (part of Netherlands-based Walters Kluwer) for gastroenterology procedure documentation and coding.

The hospital plans to utilize the software to document and code procedures performed in its GI lab, according to the company. ProVation MD is designed to replace dictation and transcription and allow physicians to efficiently document procedures at the point of care, it touts.

A teaching and research-based institution that has achieved national acclaim for its heart and cancer centers, Level III neonatal intensive care unit and kidney transplant program, Lankenau is part of the six-hospital Main Line Health system based in Bryn Mawr, Pa.
