Milwaukee-based Merge Healthcare has rolled out FusionWeb, a new image-enabled Web portal. According to the company, the software platform provides secure Web access for the real-time exchange of patient information, procedure reports and digital images.

The company says FusionWeb was developed specifically for referring clinicians and gives radiology providers a means of enhancing system interoperability and workflow efficiency with image-enabled EHRs. According to Merge, the zero-client software platform provides hospitals and imaging centers the ability to include diagnostic images as part of the EHR regardless of browser type, operating platform or security policies. In addition, it says, the product eliminates the need to install and maintain subsequent visualization devices or software plug-ins.

Based on Merge Cedara WebAccess technology, when bundled with the company’s Fusion RIS and PACS products, FusionWeb provides online order entry and visibility into patient status for referring physicians, it claims.
