University of Tennessee (UT) Medical Center in Knoxville is deploying United Kingdom-based GE Healthcare IT’s Centricity Perioperative Software Solution throughout its organization.

The software will enable documentation and revenue cycle management and will support communications, data and workflow within pre-admission testing and throughout the post-anesthesia care unit, says the company. Centricity’s updated 7.5 version includes integrated instrument set tracking using Sterile Processing Manager and Centricity Tracker, which is designed to provide patient visitors with real-time status updates while protecting patient confidentiality, according to GE.

UT currently has 26 operating rooms — with plans to expand to 55 — and serves the regional areas of East Tennessee, Southeast Kentucky and Western North Carolina.
