Spire Healthcare Group, a 36-hospital provider based in the United Kingdom, has installed Mortsel, Belgium-based Agfa HealthCare’s IMPAX PACS and Computed Radiography (CR) systems in 10 of its hospitals.

According to the company, the implementation has improved image storage and retrieval and has enabled consultant radiologists working with Spire Healthcare to use 3D reconstruction and work with orthopedic templating software for the first time.

Spire Healthcare is the United Kingdom’s second largest private hospital provider, with more than 7,600 employees. The system treats more than 930,000 patients per year.
