New Orleans-based Ochsner Health System has deployed the IMPAX Data Center from Agfa HealthCare (Mortsel, Belgium) to consolidate data from disparate multi-vendor PACS and clinical systems from its seven hospitals and 35 health clinics onto a single point of storage.

According to the company, the solution supports all types of DICOM 3.0 medical images and diagnostic results including DICOM-encapsulated images, reports, waveforms and PDFs. Ochsner installed a mirror data center at a remote location to enable continuous access to systems and data in the event of a disaster, the company adds.

Ochsner Health System is a non-profit, academic, multi-specialty delivery system that includes seven hospitals and over 35 health centers located throughout Southeast Louisiana.
