Suburban Hospital Healthcare System (Bethesda, Md.) is implementing the Horizon Clinicals clinical and revenue management solution suite from Alpharetta, Ga.-based McKesson as part of an IT transformation the organization is undergoing to compete with local facilities, says the company.

Included in the clinical suite are McKesson’s bedside barcoding and CPOE systems as well as a secure Web portal.

With the revenue management solution, Suburban hopes to automate operational and financial processes to more efficiently connect with payers, financial institutions, physicians and consumers, it says.

Suburban Hospital is a 238-bed, acute care facility serving the greater Washington, D.C. area with several centers of specialized care and community-based wellness programs. The hospital has strategic partnerships with the National Institutes of Health, National Naval Medical Center and Johns Hopkins Medicine.
