The Baltimore-based Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is granting federal matching funds to four states, as well as Puerto Rico, for planning activities necessary to implement the EHR incentive program under ARRA.
The stimulus package provides a 90 percent federal match for state planning activities to administer incentive payments to Medicaid providers; ensure proper payments through audits; and promote interoperability and meaningful use of EHR technology, says the organization.
As part of ARRA, CMS awarded the following:- $1.53 million to Missouri
- $3.53 million to Oregon
- $967,000 to Washington state
- $405,000 to New Mexico
- $1.80 million to Puerto Rico
