Providence Health Care organization, a healthcare provider operating seven facilities in Vancouver, British Columbia has selected Misys Healthcare to provide St. Paul's Hospital and MountSaint JosephHospital with Misys Laboratory, a laboratory information system.

According to Raleigh, N.C.-based Misys, its SMART module encompasses specimen management, routing and tracking. According to the company, in addition to the laboratory information system, labs will implement a microbiology module to enhance microbiology, virology, and epidemiological results communication, as well as a blood bank module that supports electronic cross-matching and donor unit tracking.
