A current user of Eclipsys’ Sunrise Enterprise clinical system, Athens Regional will use PeakPractice to link patient data with its network of physicians to achieve greater continuity of care and enhanced patient safety across its care community — including Athens Regional Physician Services, Athens Regional FirstCare and Athens Regional Specialty Services — says the company.
Athens Regional also plans to utilize PeakPractice to link care information with participating affiliated community physicians in Northeast Georgia, according to the company. The community EMR program will utilize the Eclipsys HealthXchange, powered by Medicity, to enable the exchange of information across a network of disparate and disconnected EMR systems, it touts.
Comprised of an acute care facility, four urgent care centers, a quality network of physicians, a health maintenance organization and a home health agency, Athens Regional Health Services is one of Northeast Georgia’s largest health care systems.
