Winter Park, Fla.-based Adventist Health System is expanding its NextGen Healthcare EMR and enterprise practice management (EPM) systems with the Horsham, Pa.-based wholly owned subsidiary of Quality Systems Inc.
According to NextGen, Adventist intends to implement the NextGen clinical and financial platform in all of its employed physician practices. Adventist bought its first NextGen licenses in 2006; since then, NextGen EPM has been deployed to more than 330 providers across the Adventist enterprise, and NextGen EMR has been implemented in 70 practices totaling more than 225 providers. Each practice using NextGen is also sending and receiving laboratory information through an electronic interface to Adventist’s inpatient system.
Adventist, the nation’s largest Protestant non-profit health organization, owns and operates 37 hospitals in 10 states.
