The Indianapolis-based Indiana Health Information Exchange (IHIE) is launching Quality Health First (QHF), a chronic disease and preventive services program designed to simplify the collection and organization of clinical data.
The initiative will provide healthcare professionals with actionable, multi-payer reports containing up-to-date information from multiple sources along with claims information to help improve their patients’ care, according to IHIE. The goal of the program is for patients to experience fewer health complications and for physicians to see better adherence to evidence-based medical practices, says the organization.
It is currently available at no cost to all primary care physicians in the nine county Indianapolis metro area, and already counts 700 physicians as members. IHIE, which has been selected by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services as a Physician Quality Reporting Initiative (PQRI) registry, is a non-profit corporation formed by the Regenstrief Institute, private hospitals, local and state health departments, BioCrossroads and other prominent organizations in Indiana.
