AccuSoft (Northborough, Mass.) has signed a contract with Chantilly, Va.-based Apptis, Inc., an IT solutions and services provider to the federal marketplace, to support Apptis’ imaging needs as the company develops a medical and dental clinical information system for the United States Department of Defense (DoD).

As part of the agreement, says AccuSoft, Apptis plans to license AccuSoft’s ImageGear MD toolkit as well as utilize AccuSoft’s ImageTransport communications software at six pilot sites, with the potential to expand the program to include all active military hospitals inside and outside the continental United States.

AccuSoft estimates the full deployment value of the contract to be in excess of $1 million.
