The Chicago-based Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT) is recruiting senior healthcare executives to serve as commissioners on the agency’s 21-member board.

The board oversees certification criteria developed by voluntary work groups, provides strategic direction and ensures the objectivity and credibility of the Certification Commission, according to the organization. Applications are being sought from vendors, providers, payers, consumer organizations, quality improvement and standards organizations; currently, 13 positions are open. The application period will be open July 1-31 for two-year terms beginning in October.

Commissioners serve staggered two-year terms and may be reappointed for a second term. Interested candidates should submit their resumes to [email protected]. Appointments will be announced in September.
