    MediConnect Global Inc., a records retrieval, scanning and storage services provider based in South Jordan, Utah, is acquiring PassportMD Inc. for an undisclosed sum.

    Based in Delray Beach, Fla., PassportMD is a personal health record company that was selected by the Obama Administration to provide electronic records for Medicare beneficiaries, according to the companies.

    MediConnect’s services include retrieval of attending physician statements for the insurance industry and medical records for the legal community.

    Under the terms of the deal, PassportMD will move its operations to Utah, they say.
