Siemens Healthcare, which has its U.S. headquarters in Malvern, Pa., has launched its new Clinical IT for Academics program for future nurses.
The product is a Web-based tool that enables nursing schools to strengthen their programs by providing students and faculty with simulated Siemens IT systems used in hospitals, says the company. A key benefit, according to Siemens, is that the program comes without the cost of equipment or instructors.
Clinical IT for Academics, a portal-based program, can help nursing schools to avoid the hassle of implementing and maintaining an actual IT system, which in turn can drive costs down while still broadening the student nurse’s IT education, says the company. The program has seven interactive courses, which are customizable to existing curricula and can be used as stand-alone learning platforms.
