Visiting Nurse Service of New York (VNSNY) has chosen Seattle-based NetMotion Wireless, a provider of mobile productivity and management software, for its Mobility XE, mobile virtual private network (VPN) solution.

VNSNY nurses, therapists and clinicians spend the majority of their day providing in-home healthcare to patients. These clinicians rely on continuous, reliable connectivity to clinical records, applications and e-mail via tablet PCs or laptops, NetMotion says. And according to the company, VPN will provide VNSNY’s home healthcare workforce with real-time access to critical data and applications at the point of care.

VNSNY is the largest not-for-profit home health care agency in the nation with nearly 10,000 care providers that make more than 2.2 million home visits per year throughout New York City, Westchester and Nassau counties to an average of over 30,000 patients each day.
