On Aug. 17, Secretary of Health and Human Services Michael Leavitt will lead a public informational session on the implementation strategy for an AHIC successor, while encouraging collaboration among private and public organizations to form that successor organization.

At this meeting, the secretary will lay out an AHIC successor vision, expectations, and approach, and will offer an opportunity to a broad spectrum of healthcare stakeholders to participate in the new organization, says the Washington-based organization.
