West Virginia has released a new electronic health record resource toolkit, available in printed form and electronically in downloadable forms.
The eHealthWV effort is funded as part of a federal grant to, among other things, educate consumers about EHRs and the privacy and security issues related to them. The West Virginia effort is part of a national effort to educate consumers and providers about the importance of privacy and security in using electronic health records. It coincides with the goal set by the federal government for most Americans to have EHRs by 2014.
