Ingenix EMR Offers e-Rx Capabilities

Eden Prairie, Minn.-based Ingenix has expanded the e-prescribing capabilities of its CareTracker EMR solution to enable physicians to access patients’ prescription histories and drug benefit information as part of the electronic record.

According to the company, CareTracker EMR’s e-prescribing feature, which is certified by Surescripts (Alexandria, Va.), enables physicians to transmit prescriptions directly to patients’ preferred pharmacy; maintain and review allergy and prescription use history at the point of care; check for drug-to-drug and drug-to-allergy interactions; reconcile current orders with past prescriptions to avoid errors; and access prescription benefit information.
