The Houston-based Methodist Hospital System launched Part Two in a three-part, Web-based initiative with MEDSEEK (Birmingham, Ala.) designed to enhance online content.

The system’s microsite for the Methodist Institute for Technology, Innovation and Education - known as MITIE was launched in October 2009. The second part was launched in March 2010 and provides enhanced online consumer functionality such as bill payment, physician search and a web nursery. The company says another key component of the engagement, distributed authorship, will improve internal workflow and enhance productivity.

The Methodist Hospital System in Houston is a non-profit general hospital comprised of a major academic medical center, three community hospitals, a physician organization and a research institute. Methodist is primarily affiliated with Weill Cornell Medical College and New York Presbyterian. Methodist also is affiliated with the University of Houston.
