The Massachusetts Medical Society (Waltham, Mass.) has selected Baton Rouge, La.-based Venyu Solutions, Inc. as its preferred data protection provider.

Under the terms of the agreement, members of the organization can use Venyu for off-site and highly secure backup storage of patient data and practice information as mandated by HIPAA, according to the company.

The Massachusetts Medical Society is dedicated to educating and advocating for patients and physicians in the state. In addition to publishing the New England Journal of Medicine and Journal Watch alerts and newsletters covering 13 specialties, the Society conducts medical education programs for physicians and health care professionals.
