Eclipsys CEO Steps Down

Andrew Eckert is resigning as CEO and president of the Atlanta-based Eclipsys Corporation. Eckert, who has held the CEO post and served as a director since 2005, will be replaced by Philip M. Pead.

According to the company, Eckert has decided to leave the company following a transitional period during which he will work closely with Pead.

An Eclipsys director, Pead was chairman, president and CEO of Per-Se Technologies Inc., a provider of acute care solutions, physician outsourcing services and practice management and claims processing services, until its acquisition by San Francisco-based McKesson in 2007.

Prior to joining Per-Se in 1997, Pead served as the senior vice president with responsibility for international operations of Dun & Bradstreet Software Services, Inc.
