The Medical Society of Delaware (Newark) today announced they have chosen McKesson’s RelayHealth (Atlanta) as their solution partner to enhance patients’ participation in managing their health care and to increase efficiency for physician practices throughout the state. As part of the agreement, the Society will provide free personal health records (PHR) to all Delaware residents.

The Medical Society of Delaware made the strategic decision to support health information technologies, such as health information exchange and PHRs, in transforming our nation’s health care system.

As part of the agreement, this solution allows physicians to share clinical laboratory results provided by Laboratory Corporation of America (LabCorp) with their patients via secure messaging. Ensuring lab results are easily accessible to both physicians and patients reduces unnecessary phone calls which helps lower costs, enables more timely physician review, and improves care.
