Physician Happiness Key to EMR Success
Satisfying physicians and clinician employees is a major factor driving EMR adoption in the hospital segment, according to the Boston-based Medical Records Institute (MRI)'s "2007 Survey of Electronic Medical Record Trends and Usage."
Key findings of the survey, co-sponsored by Netherlands-based Philips Speech Recognition Systems, include:

- The need to improve quality of care
· Major factors driving EMR adoption in the hospital segment
- Patient safety considerations

- Lack of adequate funding or resources
- Anticipated difficulties in changing to an EMR system
- Difficulty in creating a migration plan from paper
- Inability to find an EMR solution/components at an affordable cost
