Nashville-based Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), one of the largest providers in the nation, selected Boston-based PatientKeeper for a Physician Information System that the company says will provide a unified, physician-centric portal to view patient information.

According to the company, the system will connect disparate healthcare information systems across the HCA enterprise (locally managed facilities that include approximately 182 hospitals and 94 outpatient surgery centers in 22 states, England and Switzerland) and make that information available via Web browsers and Smartphones.

PatientKeeper will integrate to HCA's existing Meditech systems as well as to other sources of patient information including McKesson Horizon Medical Imaging, GE PACS, GE MUSE Cardiology Information System, GE QS Fetal Monitoring, and Philips Series 50 Fetal Monitoring.
