Sheila M. Sanders has been named vice president for information services and CIO of Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center (Winston-Salem, N.C). She will begin her term on Monday, Oct. 5.
Previously, Sanders served as CIO at University of Alabama at Birmingham.
At Wake Forest Baptist, Sanders is expected to lead several projects already under way, including rolling out an EMR for referring physician practices, completion of the CPOE system, wireless infrastructure, e-prescribing, and information technology consolidation, says the organization. She will report to Douglas L. Edgeton, executive vice president for administration.
Sanders replaces Katherine Carr, who has served as interim CIO since April.
