Health Evolution Partners (San Francisco) has marked its first investment by backing Prematics, Inc., an e-prescribing provider based in Bethesda, Md.

Health Evolution Partners Innovation Network (HEPIN) led the Series B round in funding, investing an undisclosed sum in the company. According to terms of the deal, Health Evolution Partners will provide capital to Prematics in future rounds through the Health Evolution Partners Growth Fund, says the company.

David Brailer, M.D., chairman of Health Evolution Partners, will join the Prematics board of directors. Brailer formerly served as the National Health Information Technology Coordinator.
