    The Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), a national membership organization for healthcare financial management professionals, has elected Mary Beth Briscoe to serve as the organization's voluntary national Chairman of the Board of Directors for 2007-08. Her term began June 1, 2007.

    According to HFMA (Westchester, Ill.), Briscoe's theme, "make a difference", challenges its members to become engaged and enthusiastic about making a difference in healthcare.

    A member of HFMA since 1984, Ms. Briscoe has been actively involved at the chapter and national level. In addition, Briscoe is the chief financial officer at University Hospital, UAB Health Systems Birmingham, Ala.
