Ottawa, Canada-based Algonquin College has implemented a solution to identify the exact point of a pandemic’s lifecycle.

With an interactive voice response solution from Canadian-based Vocantas Inc., the College has successfully conducted trials using the influenza module that have enabled the prompt recognition and tracking of any symptoms its residents may be experiencing, says the company.

Within a brief timeframe, the turnkey system securely contacted a large population of the school’s residents by telephone and automatically recorded the results for evaluation by designated College administrators, says the company. These statistics provided the school’s administrators with a precise means of monitoring the health status of the students, which it says will enable future tracking of any potential pandemic trends and patterns.
